IEEE Singapore Festival 2021
This year, we celebrate the 12th annual IEEE Day across the globe on 5 October. In the spirit of IEEE Day 2021, we are delighted to host the “IEEE Singapore Festival 2021”. Beginning on 5 October, the one-week festival will include an all-virtual series of technical and professional talks, networking sessions, and fun social contests.
This festival is jointly organised by the IEEE Young Professionals Singapore and IEEE Women in Engineering Singapore affinity groups.
This particular session is organised by the IEEE Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) Student Branch.

Dr. Mike Rollo

Mike has operated at CEO and Executive Manager levels with some of the world’s largest infrastructure development companies. He has 40 year’s line management and corporate experience in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the United Kingdom, working in the engineering construction and property development industries. He has been a MD/CEO of both private and publicly listed corporations as well as spending a period of time working for Government agencies. During his career he has established a leadership track record in attracting, selecting, developing and motivating high calibre management teams that delivered exceptional outcomes. Mike has been involved with many of the large infrastructure projects developed across the Australasian region over the past 20 years. His pragmatic, hands-on approach and depth of experience enables him to quickly build a rapport with business and project teams, establishing a clear framework from which to deliver results. In 2012 Mike rejoined Leighton Holdings as Chief Risk Officer with specific accountability to oversee the risk management activities across the Leighton Group. During this time Leighton had annual revenues of A$24B, operated in 23 countries with 60,000 employees, had 400 active projects and submitted over 100 tenders each month. He remained in this role during the Spanish conglomerate, ACS’s acquisition of the Leighton Group in 2014. In March 2017 Mike stepped down from this role to pursue a PhD in project management at Sydney University. Mike has been a Company Director since 1999 and has been a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors since 2002 and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers, Australia since 2007. Mike was a Director of the Australian Constructors Association from 2012 to 2015, a member of the World Economic Forum, Engineering and Construction Global Risk Institute from 2012 to 2015 and a member of the International Dispute Resolution Board from 2012 to 2015.
